Nuclear Energy Innovation

Advanced nuclear technologies promise clean, reliable power with strong safety profiles and increasing benefits for energy security, climate, and economic development. But realizing these benefits requires a regulatory system that is equipped to license modern technologies at scale, and strategies to overcome commercial hurdles.

Environmental Regulatory Reform

Major infrastructure projects are essential to providing abundant and affordable energy, lowering carbon emissions, managing the nation's forests to mitigate wildfire risk, mining and refining critical minerals and other commodities, and other strategic US policy priorities. Policymakers and stakeholders alike must work to engineer a new process that supports, rather than hinders, the nation's transition to a future of cleaner and more abundant energy and resources.

Critical Minerals Security

Reestablishing missing capabilities in critical minerals supply chains not only protects the U.S. economy and national security from trade disruptions, but also builds industrial expertise that strengthens overall American competitiveness. Robust critical minerals policy can, in turn, drive cleaner innovations in major industrial processes while guiding more holistic national energy policy.

Agricultural Innovation

Advanced genetics and high-yield technologies are needed to feed a growing global population while slowing agricultural land expansion. New genetically modified and gene-edited plants, livestock, and microbes have potential to raise yields and reduce costs, inputs, land use, and pollution. However, securing these gains depends on strengthened investments in research, modernized risk-based regulations, and expanded export markets for agricultural products of biotechnology.

Who we are

As a 501(c)4 organization, Ecomodern Action advocates for public policies that advance technological solutions to environmental and human development challenges. Established in 2026, Ecomodern Action supports policies based on rigorous, evidence-based research produced by our colleagues at The Breakthrough Institute.
